I understand that if I pay less income/capital gains tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in the tax year in which they are received, it is my responsibility to pay any difference and that I must notify the charity of any changes to my tax status, including changes to my name or address.

Gift Aid FAQs

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows charities to reclaim the tax that you have already paid on your donations.

For every donation you give, we get an extra 25% from the government. So if you give £4, we can get an additional £1. A £20 gift will be worth £25 – with the extra £5 coming from the government. It also counts for donations you’ve made in the past, up to four years ago.

No. Gift Aid is taken from tax you’ve already paid, so there’s no charge to you. It doesn’t affect your tax status either.

You are eligible if you are a UK tax payer and the total tax you pay in that tax year is at least equal to the amount we can reclaim on your donations.

Simply, fill in the form above so that we have a Gift Aid declaration from you.

There is no extra paperwork – we deal with the tax office to reclaim the tax. All we need is your form. The declaration gives us authority to reclaim tax from HMRC on your donations.
